“On Self-Reliance Part 4”

Notes- • learning means changing your mind • a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds • to be great is to be misunderstood • a true man belongs to no one and is the center of things • at some point we feel like we don’t have the answers so we look around to see who does • always scorn appearances & you always may • we think to ourselves that the people around us have the answers to everything - I don’t think I inspire or get inspired by anyone around me - Why do we admire wealth so much? - Emerson inspired me when he said don’t be less than your best self because you think your not worth it. Don’t bring yourself down just to try to fit in with others, your worth more than you think you just haven’t gotten to the point to express yourself to others.

“On Self-Reliance Part 3”

Notes- • nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind • if a person is always saying good things about you and can’t tell you something to improve on,                 don’t trust them • virtues are good attitudes and deeds • we have a lot of pressure to not say the truth • the crowd in our community matters more to us than the leaders in any institution that we admire • don’t follow the crowd that tells you what is right for you and tells you how you should do it • less crowd less judgment shows the real you • a man must know how to estimate a sour face

“On Self-Reliance Part 2”

Notes- • our acts our angels are • we choose what we look at, that choice determines what you do • don’t be less than your best self because you think your not worth it • let yourself be judge that’s what makes us stronger and more motivated • people think that the easier way they choose the better it will go for them in life • What is it that makes adults so courageous and children so afraid?
